Rider Requests for Visas

January 11 2012

For all riders, team staff and visitors requiring a visa to enter the United Kingdom the Birmingham BMX World Championships Organising Committee are able to support your application with a letter to the UK Border Agency confirming your involvement in the event.

There are a number of different types of visa and it is important understand which one your require.

Sports Visitor Visa - Specifically for adult challenge class riders and team support staff, including managers, mechanics and medics etc.

Child Visitor Visa - Specifically for challenge class riders who are under 18 years old.  Siblings under 18 who are not participating would also come under this category.

General Visitor Visa - Partners or parents of participants.

Tier 5 Creative & Sporting - Specifically for elite riders and coaches for whom BMX racing is a profession and they will be attending the World Championships to work.

All requests regardless of the visa type must be made to your national federation with the name, date of birth, passport number and role of each person requiring a visa.

The federation must then email bmxworldchamps@britishcycling.org.uk confirming that these people are participating or attending the event in an official capacity.

Please note that we cannot accept visa requests directly from individuals without the support of your national federation.
